So here’s the quick down and dirty: There I was, driving back from Laramie where I had been hanging out with my sister and Kendra. The snow had started back up around the pass and visibility wasn’t so great. I’m driving and pushing my comfort level in order to stay within sight of this semi. This goes on for some time when I see something ahead that doesn’t make sense so I’m trucking along until I realize that I’m headed towards two lanes of stopped semis. And I’m not stopped.
At this point, I attempt stopping which results in initial loss of momentum but definitely not enough to avoid rear-ending a semi. I assume I took my foot off the brakes at this point; either way I headed off the road. The slope was gradual with no big snowdrifts so ti was a fairly calm descent into the median. As I slowed, I put my truck into 4 high quickly and headed back up to the highway. The reason why everyone stopped was due to a semi on its side perpendicular to the road. I got out, made sure there were no injuries, called 911, explained the situation, made sure the driver got out ok and then took off. I was the only one that made it around the accident.
So basically I went from serious problems to being able to continue down the highway at my leisure until reaching my apartment where I now relax to smoooth jazz. So thank you, God, and thank you T and J for selling me your old Jeep. Without it, I would be in much worse shape right now.
