So here’s the quick down and dirty: There I was, driving back from Laramie where I had been hanging out with my sister and Kendra. The snow had started back up around the pass and visibility wasn’t so great. I’m driving and pushing my comfort level in order to stay within sight of this semi. This goes on for some time when I see something ahead that doesn’t make sense so I’m trucking along until I realize that I’m headed towards two lanes of stopped semis. And I’m not stopped.
At this point, I attempt stopping which results in initial loss of momentum but definitely not enough to avoid rear-ending a semi. I assume I took my foot off the brakes at this point; either way I headed off the road. The slope was gradual with no big snowdrifts so ti was a fairly calm descent into the median. As I slowed, I put my truck into 4 high quickly and headed back up to the highway. The reason why everyone stopped was due to a semi on its side perpendicular to the road. I got out, made sure there were no injuries, called 911, explained the situation, made sure the driver got out ok and then took off. I was the only one that made it around the accident.
So basically I went from serious problems to being able to continue down the highway at my leisure until reaching my apartment where I now relax to smoooth jazz. So thank you, God, and thank you T and J for selling me your old Jeep. Without it, I would be in much worse shape right now.
So it’s 1130 in the pee-em local time. i’ve got what i hope is the last day of my friday class in the manana. hmmm, manana should be spanish. i’ll steal from someplace online to emphasize proper pronounciation: Mañana. ahhh, muy better. just wanted to let you all know Josh and I plus assorted friends went snow plowing with our trucks today. ’twas a good time to be had by all. and den we found big snow pile. and den we drove through it. and den i got stuck. and den Alissa called. and den Josh pushed me out. and den Alissa called again. and den campus security came. and den campus security ignored me. and den i met up with Josh at previously determined redezvous point. and den Josh showed me the damage done to his grill and light while taking down the Big Kahuna of a SnowPile and getting air. and den we left. and den i hoped Toby was jealous because i was using all four wheels. and den i came i wrote this. and den….i went to bed.
According to Answers.com, the definition of “diary” is a follows:
di·a·ry (dī‘ə-rē)
n., pl. -ries.
[Latin diārium, daily allowance, daily journal, from diēs, day.]
These defintions allude to a personal record of one’s life while blog is defined by answers.com as:
A blog is a website for which an individual or a group frequently generates text, photographs, video, audio files, and/or links, typically (but not always) on a daily basis. The term is a shortened form of weblog. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is called “blogging”. Individual articles on a blog are called “blog posts,” “posts,” or “entries”. The person who posts these entries is called a “blogger”.
With this in mind, I shall now prescribe the intent of this so called “blog.” In essence, I will combine the idea of ‘diary’ and ‘weblog’ into ‘this-is-my-site-so-i’ll-write-whatever-vainglorious-idea-i-want’ kind of place.
